![]() ![]() ![]() The Clarion lens isn’t Fototec so doesn’t change tint to adjust to different light conditions. Hydrophilic means the more you sweat, the more the nose and ear pieces grip And - most importantly - the optics of the Rail Race’s shatterproof lens are crystal clear. ![]() ( NOTE: The Rail Race is considered a Large-XL fit by Tifosi, but they fit my average-ish size head/face just fine). The way the Rail Race fits, I hardly notice it when riding - whether it’s a short spin for coffee or 4-6 hours in the saddle. Lightness is part of what makes the Rail Race comfortable, but so do the nose piece (adjustable to fit your nose width) and ear pieces, which are hydrophilic rubber for a no slip grip. The vents make a difference #marginalgains You could buy two pairs of Rail Races in two different colorways for about the same you would spend for a pair of other “high end” cycling sunglasses (and you might have to pay extra to get a clear or other tint lens). ![]() At $79.95, they’re like all the sunglasses in the Tifosi lineup (less than $100 - even for sunglasses that come with multiple lenses). The other thing that’s light about the Rail Race is how much (little) damage they’ll do to your wallet. They’re light (spec’ed at 32 grams - I didn’t have a scale handy to weigh them but my Rail weighs in at 31 grams). Although not worn in the pro peloton, it’s a pair of sunglasses that could be. But the Rail Race is about more than just style. ![]()
